Inaugural Season Outreach Program


Holiday Hijinks with Flashpoint Theatre Company
featuring work by Ryan Kelly, Derick Loafmann, Genne Murphy, and Walt Vail

Flashpoint Theatre Company extended the invitation to local writers to share some of their more off-kilter and less conventional holiday stories with us. These stories were then given a dramatic staged reading at the opening night of The Santaland Diaries at the Society Hill Playhouse and at a special event at the Barnes and Noble in Rittenhouse Square on December 8, 2004.

Flashpoint Theatre Company donated 80% of ticket proceeds from its production of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues to Women’s Anti-Violence Education (WAVE), a local non-profit committed to providing women with self-defense classes and educating them on other ways they can help prevent violence against women; 10% of the proceeds went to V-Day, a non-profit corporation that distributes funds to grassroots, national, and international organizations and programs that work to stop violence against women and girls.   WAVE

Flashpoint Theatre Company donated $1.00 from every ticket sold for its production of the Philadelphia premiere of Schoolgirl Figure to The Renfrew Center Foundation, The Renfrew Center Foundation a Philadelphia non-profit committed to advancing education, research, and treatment of eating disorders.
